The Suburban Sista's Guide to African-American Culture
Welcome to the pre-eminent blog for suburban sistas interested in literature, politics, art, music and other cultural pursuits. My blog will feature book reviews by prominent and rising African-American authors, as well as excerpts of my own soon-to-be-published works. Occasionally, you may find anecdotes and advice on parenting African-American children in suburbia, especially when my own are providing me with excessive entertainment/challenges.

Congrats on the by-line! I enjoyed the review. My mother never read the traditional romance novels, but I remember feeling scandalized after finding her copy of "Fear of Flying" one day as a pre-teen!
In your opinion, are any of these novels adaptable for the small or big screen? Will we ever see an African American version of "Sex in the City," for example?
Continued best of luck to you with your reviews!
Kim wonderful article in Pop Matters--thanks for including my book. I've been scouring the net trying to find you. I stumbled across your blog by accident today. Drop me a line if you get a spare moment.
